In a farewell message shared on its official platforms, APR paid tribute to the outgoing captain, describing him as a winner and legend.
Niyomugabo departs APR FC after seven years and a number of championship trophies. His consistency and experience earned him the captain’s armband as APR dominated domestic football.
During his time at the club, APR won seven Rwanda Premier League titles and several other domestic trophies, including the Peace Cup.
His final season ended with APR lifting the 2026 Peace Cup after beating Rayon Sports 4-2 on penalties in the final.
