Denis Omedi’s stunning long-range effort earned the 23 times Rwanda Premier League champions APR FC a dramatic 1–1 draw against Kiyovu Stars as their winless run extended to four matches on Saturday, February 14, at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
New signing Abdalah Aziz Harerimana broke the deadlock in the 81st minute, to put Kiyovu in the driving seat after the match appeared destined for a stalemate . However, Omedi struck in stoppage time to rescue a point for APR.
The draw extends APR’s winless run to four matches. They remain second on 38 points, trailing league leaders Al Hilal on goal difference, although Al Hilal have played two games fewer.
Kiyovu who are seeking for their 8th title missed the chance following the equaliser by Omedi to close the gap at the top of the Rwanda Premier League table sit fifth with 32 points.
APR will look to return to winning ways when they host Police FC on Friday, February 20.
Elsewhere, Bugesera FC claimed a 3–1 victory over Gorilla FC, while Marine FC and Gicumbi FC settled for a 1–1 draw.
