Police in Kampala are investigating a fatal incident in which a suspected Manchester United F.C. supporter allegedly killed an Arsenal F.C. fan following a dispute linked to football celebrations in Bakuli.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson SP Kawala Racheal, the incident occurred on Sunday evening at around 6:30 PM in Bakuli, Kampala Central Division.
The deceased has been identified as Denis, 34, a boda boda rider and resident of Bakuli. According to preliminary information, at around 6:30 pm on 24 May 2026, Denis, an alleged Arsenal F.C. supporter, got into a heated argument with a man only identified as Musiramu, said to be a Manchester United F.C. fan.
Preliminary police findings indicate that Denis, who was reportedly celebrating Arsenal’s Premier League triumph, got into a misunderstanding with a man identified only as Musiramu, said to be a Manchester United supporter.
The exchange reportedly escalated into a physical fight during which the suspect allegedly struck Denis on the head, causing him to fall to the ground and die instantly. Police responded to the scene and later conveyed the body to Mulago National Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination.
The tragic incident happened as Arsenal fans across different parts of Kampala and the country celebrated the club’s Premier League title victory following their win over Crystal Palace F.C. on Championship Sunday at Selhurst Park.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Kawala Racheal said efforts are underway to track down and arrest the suspect, who is currently on the run. She added that investigations are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the confrontation and to bring the culprit to justice.
