Kevin Wangaya Wins Sportpesa League Player of the Month Award
The Nairobi United diminutive midfielder was named player of the Month after registering a streak of impressive performances throughout the month of April.
He beat Kenya Police goalkeeper Daniel Ogembo and his teammate Micheal Karamor who finished as second runners up to the coveted award.
The talented playmaker enjoyed a highly productive month, scoring three goals and assisting three in five appearances, directly contributing seven points to the Naibois.
He becomes the second youngest player to win the award after Kariobangi Sharks midfielder Humphrey Aroko.
Speaking after receiving the award, the midfielder expressed gratitude towards his team mates and technical bench.
“First of all I thank God for this opportunity, to be named player of the month for April has not been easy. I would like to thank my team mates, technical bench and everyone at Nairobi United, without them I would not be able to win this award.”
The playmaker who joined Nairobi United during the mid-season transfer window has enjoyed a seamless transition into the team establishing himself as a key weapon in the Nairobi United arsenal.
