Uganda Premier League Champs Vipers Hold KCCA, Kitara Humble SC Villa

Defending champions Vipers Sports Club scored in the dyeing minutes to salvage a 1-all Uganda Premier League draw with Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Ivan “The Hunter” Ahimibisibwe gave the Kasasiro boys the lead with a well struck penalty in the 35th minute awarded after fter defender Kevin Baddy Da Slyva brought him down in the box.

Second half substitute Glodi Beyuku who had come in for Yunus Junior Sentamu on 74 minutes raced onto Abdul-Karim Watambala’s decent through ball before he fired into the top right corner of the goal past goalkeeper Mutwalibu Mugolofa for a share of the spoils.

The one point earned consolidated Vipers’ lead at the summit with 59 points off 26 matches played as KCCA has 52 points from 26 games.

Kitara FC 2 SC Villa 0

Seventeen times Uganda Premier League Champions Sports Club Villa were edged out Kitara FC 2-0 as the two sides faced off at the Royals Park, Butema.

Two first-half goals from Patrick Kaddu and Yunus Sibira ensured the Royals cruised to a 2-0 win.

The win meant Kitara moved back to the second position on 54 points, five behind leaders Vipers with four games to the end of the season.

Kitara and Villa came into today’s game level on points and both needed to win to cut the gap on runaway leaders Vipers, who drew 1-1 against KCCA on Wednesday.
