Mbarara City FC got fought off their Uganda Premier League relegation troubles after securing a hard-fought 2-1 win over the 2001–02 East African Hedex Super Cup champions Express FC on Tuesday at Rwamwanja Stadium.
Goals from Clinton Kamugisha and Ian Amanya were enough for Mbarara City to taste victory as Express got their consolation goal through Kenneth Kimera.
Express on the other hand stay tenth on the table with 30 points from 26 games.
