French Coach Bruno Ferry Exits Rayon Sports after Three Months

Nine times Rwanda Premier League champions Rayon Sports have parted ways with head coach Frenchman Bruno Ferry by mutual agreement after just three months in charge.

The club confirmed his departure in a statement released on its official social media platforms on Friday.

“By mutual agreement, Rayon Sports and head coach Bruno Ferry have parted ways. We thank him for his service and wish him success in his future endeavors,” the statement read.

Ferry’s exit comes just a day after he guided the club into the semifinals of the Peace Cup, following a penalty shootout victory over Police FC on Thursday.

During his tenure, Rayon Sports managed only five wins in 13 matches, a run of form that fell short of expectations from the club’s management.

A UEFA Pro Licence holder leaves the team in fifth place on the league table with 39 points, trailing leaders APR FC by 10 points.

Ferry has previously worked across several clubs in African football, including roles with Accra Lions in Ghana as a scout, Eding Sport in Cameroon, AS Dakar Sacré-Cœur in Senegal, Azam FC in Tanzania, and AS Vita Club in DR Congo, where he served both as assistant coach and head coach.

Who is Bruno Ferry?

Born in Châtel-sur-Moselle, in northeastern France, Bruno Ferry is a French football manager and former professional goalkeeper. Now 58, he brings vast coaching experience, particularly within African football, where he has held several managerial and technical roles since the early 2000s.

Ferry was most recently head coach of AS Miquelonnaise, a club competing in Ligue SPM in France, a role he has held since 2020. He guided the side to the league title that same year.
