Kevin Wangaya Nominated in Young Player of the Season Category at Sportpesa Gala Awards
The attacking midfielder has been nominated to the prestigious category alongside Humphrey Aroko of Kariobangi Sharks, Robinson Musungu of Mara Sugar, Oliver Machaka of Kakamega Homeboyz and Kelly Madada of AFC Leopards.
The young attacker made it to the list after registering a streak of impressive performances for the Naibois, having joined the club during the mid-season transfer window.
He scored five goals and registered seven assists for the Naibois, helping them to a fourth place finish in their debut season in Kenya’s top tier league.
From being unattached just over six months ago, to dorminating Gala Awards both at the club level and the entire league, Kevin Wangaya’s rise is a pure case of humility, hardwork and determination against all odds.
He recently won the Fans’ Player of the Season Award, as well as the Signing of the Season Award, during Nairobi United’s End of Season Awards Gala. He also won the Sportpesa League Player of the Month Award for April, becoming the youngest player to win the award after Kariobangi Sharks’ midfielder Humphrey Aroko. The historic Sportpesa League Gala Awards is set for Thursday this week in Nairobi.
