Defending champions Vipers SC trounced Maroons FC 3-0 to clinch the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League title to extend their local league dominance eight at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026.
The three points took Vipers to a total of 64 points, putting them out of reach of second-placed KCCA FC.
Yunus Sentamu, Usama Arafat and Abdul Karim Watambala were on target as Vipers secured maximum points coached former Kenya’s national team coach Belgian tactician Ivan Minnaert under pressure following a poor string of results that saw them bow out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup by Kitara FC.
Before the fixture, the seven time league champions had won just two league games in their previous eight matches.
Vipers had drawn five of their previous five games across all competitions, they last cruised to victory on April 26th when they beat Entebbe UPPC 3-0 at Kitende.
Against Maroons, the Venoms need just one win to clinch the title since they have a better head to head over title chasers KCCA FC who face URA FC.
Maroons are currently 10th with 35 points and are only playing for positions. They have won just once in their previous five games, drawing three and one defeat.
