The TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 kicks off on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026 with 16 teams beginning the race for continental glory and qualification to the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026.
Hosts and defending champions Morocco stage opening match the tournament which runs from 13 May to 2 June, against Tunisia coached by Nadjeh Toumi at the Stade Moulay Hassan in Rabat as Egypt face Ethiopia in the other Group A clash at Mohammed VI Football Complex – Pitch T11.
Former champions Côte d’Ivoire and face two-time winners Cameroon will lock horns in a heavyweight Group B encounter at Mohammed VI Football Complex – Pitch T3 before Uganda  under former Ghana international Laryea Kingston meet debutants DR Congo later in the day at Mohammed VI Football Complex – Pitch T8
The eight quarter-finalists will automatically qualify for the World Cup, while the four third-placed teams will enter play-offs to determine the final two African representatives at the global finals later this year.
With four high-quality matches on the opening day, Morocco 2026 promises to begin with intensity, excitement and the emergence of Africa’s next generation of stars.
