Naibois Seeking to Maintain Momentum Against Muranga Seal
Nairobi United will be aiming to maintain their recent brilliant run of form, as they travel to the Mountain to take on Muranga Seal in a Sportpesa League match set for tommorow, Sunday 3 P.M at Sportpesa Arena, Muranga County.
The Naibois come into the match after a 2_2 draw against Kakamega Homeboyz in their last Sportpesa League match that was followed by 2_0 win over Posta Rangers to book a place in the FKF Mozzart Bet Cup quarter final.
Muranga Seal head into the match following a turbulent week that saw them lose 5_1 to Mfalme F.C in the Mozzart Bet Cup, followed by the departure of Head Coach Osbourne Monday who has since joined Shabana F.C as first assistant coach. Dennis Odhiambo was appointed as the new Head Coach until the end of the season and will therefore be incharge ahead of the encounter.
The last Sportpesa League match between the two sides played at Kasarani Annex in early December last year ended 1_1. Micheal Karamor gave the Naibois an early lead in the 7th minute following a brilliant team move before Joe Waithira equalized in the 51st minute to salvage a point for Muranga Seal.
Speaking ahead of the match, Nairobi United Assistant Coach Bonface Omondi expressed cautious optimism.
“For tommorow’s match against Muranga Seal, our preparations have been very good since we have had a whole week to prepare which has been so rare so far this season. We expect a tricky encounter since the opponent has changed coaches recently, we therefore expect a new manager bounce and new tactics.”
Ovella Ochieng, Majaliwa Charo and Steve Biko Omollo were involved in full training this week and might therefore get some minutes. Prince Buregeya, Titus Ssematimba and Charles Waibi remain sidelined through injury. Nairobi United could move upto sixth with a win in Muranga.
