The SportPesa League Kenya Premier League enters a high-stakes Round 18 this Sunday as 13-time champions Tusker FC host KCB FC at the Kasarani Annex.
For the Brewers, this is more than just a league fixture; it is a mission for redemption and a chance to settle an early-season score.
The memory of the season opener in September 2025 still lingers in Ruaraka. On that day, the Bankers outclassed Tusker 2-0 at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, courtesy of a Boniface Omondi brace. Since then, both teams have experienced a rollercoaster of form, but the Brewers are now determined to flip the script while playing at home.
Speaking to Tusker Media, ahead of the clash, Tusker FC Head Coach Charles Okere emphasized that the team has moved past their recent 4-0 “awakening” against AFC Leopards and is now focused on tactical discipline.
“Football is played in the mind first,” Okere noted during a training session at Ruaraka. “We have picked the positives and are converting our frustrations into fuel. Against KCB, you will see a pragmatic Tusker. We are going there to grind out a result.”

The biggest subplot of the weekend is the arrival of winger Stephen Etyang, who joined Tusker from KCB just days ago. The experienced 29-year-old, who has also featured for Kakamega Homeboyz and Ulinzi Stars, could make a sensational debut against his former employers.
“I am delighted to join Tusker because it is a club of high pedigree,” Etyang told the Tusker media. “My target is to score goals and provide assists to help the team climb the standings. Playing against KCB immediately is a test of character, and I am ready.”

Assistant captain Tom Teka has called for total concentration from the backline, which will be tasked with stopping a KCB attack led by the clinical Boniface Omondi.
“We know their threats, especially on the transition and set pieces,” Teka remarked. “As players, we have had honest conversations. We are united and determined to push ourselves to ensure we get the clean sheet and the three points.”
Tusker (24 points)are tenth on the standings while KCB FC (25) sits in sixth position.
In the ither KPL games scheduled for Sunday, Ulinzi Stars and Murang’a SEAL will play each other at Ulinzi Complex, while Sofapaka host AFC Leopards at Kasarani main stadium.
