KCCA FC, founded in 1963 by Samuel Wamala, initially consisted of casual workers from the City Engineering Department of Kampala. The club joined the Kampala and District Football League (KDFL) Third Division in 1965 and gained promotion in 1966. By 1968, KCC was competing in Division One but faced relegation in 1971. They later rejoined the National League, gaining promotion in 1974 and winning their first championship in 1976. KCC also claimed the CECAFA Clubs Cup in 1978.
Throughout the late 20th century, the club enjoyed success, winning multiple Uganda Cups and league titles, spearheaded by stars like Davis Kamoga and Frank Kyazze. After a challenging period in the late 1990s, KCC won the league in 2008 and 2013, alongside a Uganda Cup title in 2004. Internationally, they reached the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Champions Clubs multiple times and participated in various CAF competitions.
Overall, KCCA FC has secured thirteen league titles, ten Uganda Cup titles, and two CECAFA Clubs Cup victories.
