Former South Sudan Premier League champions Jamus Sports Social &Cultural Club has signed the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) SportPesa League 2025/26 season top scorer Joe Waithira from last year’s Mozzart Bet Cup semi finalists Murang’a Seal.
Having completed his medical examinations, Waithira, popularly known as ‘King Joe’, is expected to join his new teammates in preparation for the 2026/27 season seeking to reclaim the Premier League tittle after finishing second behind the winners El Merriekh SC Bentiu.
Waithira will now link up with fellow Kenyan Haniff Wesonga a Harambee Stars who defender joined the South Sudanese giants at the start of the recently concluded season and played a key role in the club’s campaign.
Before his move to South Sudan, the former Sofapaka, Wazito and Bandari forward had been strongly linked with 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup finalists Kenya Police FC and record champions Gor Mahia.
‘King Joe’ posted his most prolific season in the last term which saw him earn a number of accolades in the end-of-season gala, clinching the Golden Boot, Players’ Player of the Year award and a place in the Team of the Season.
