The friendly game between Uganda and Zanzibar scheduled for 11th June 2026 has been called off at the eleventh hour.
“Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) has notified Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) of the cancellation of the 11th June 2026 Centenary friendly at New Amaan Complex due to government health precautionary directives.
The recent outbreak of Ebola has seen Uganda register cases, including two deaths and this has hit the country across many spheres, including sports.
The two games were called off by the Moroccan authority citing pulbic health concerns.
Coach Paul Put summoned a team of 22 players, largely composed of those who feature in the Uganda Premier League and trained at MTN-Omondi Lugogo on Monday and Tuesday.
