Uganda were held to a barren draw by Kenya to be eliminated in the third round of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers in the second leg at Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday, 30 May, 2026.
Substitute Emily Adhiambo proved the difference across the two-legged tie after her superb second-half strike in Uganda cancelled out the hosts’ opener and handed Kenya a precious away goal.
Kenya had reached the second qualifying round after dismantling Namibia 7-1 on aggregate, while Uganda advanced with an emphatic 6-1 aggregate victory over Zimbabwe.
The Junior Starlets will now face either South Africa or Tanzania in the next round as they continue their quest to return to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
