DAR ES SALAAM — Young Africans S.C. sent a strong warning to rivals Simba SC after cruising to a dominant 3-0 victory over Singida Black Stars in a high-stakes Tanzania Mainland Premier League clash at KMC Complex.
Former Vipers FC midfielder Allan Okello stole the show with a brilliant brace, scoring in the 14th and 69th minutes, while Mudathir Yahya added another just before halftime as Yanga reclaimed the top spot with 57 points from 24 matches.
The result has intensified one of East Africa’s fiercest football rivalries, with Simba sitting just two points behind on 55 points with six matches left in the title race.
Okello Continues East African Dominance
Okello’s performance has once again sparked conversation across East African football circles, with the Ugandan international emerging as one of the league’s most decisive players in the final stretch of the season.
The ex-Vipers FC star has become a fan favourite at Yanga due to his creativity, long-range strikes, and ability to deliver in big matches , qualities that could prove decisive in the title race against Simba.

Simba Breathing Down Yanga’s Neck
The pressure remains enormous for Yanga despite the victory. Simba have also found top form, recently securing a crucial comeback win over Coastal Union inspired by Zambian midfield maestro Clatous Chama.
With both Dar es Salaam giants separated by only two points, Tanzanian football fans are preparing for a dramatic finish that could go down to the final day of the season.
Singida Still Chasing Continental Football
