The fate of Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC CECAFA Kagame Cup 2026semi finals qualification will be determined on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 after the group C encounter between Sudan’s Al Hilal and Rwanda’s Rayon Sport.
The Venoms finished second in group A behind Kenya’s Gor Mahia on goal difference after both amassed six points alongside Rwanda BK Pro League champions APR.
With only the table toppers from the respective groups advancing to the semi-final, and one second best placed team joining the trio, Vipers remain in contention as they lead the table for the second ranked teams ahead of Rayon Sport on goals scored – both teams on six points and +3 goal difference.
For Denis Lavagne’s men to go through, Al Hilal must beat Rayon Sport as that leaves the Rwandan giants in second and with an inferior goal difference to Vipers.
What scenarios eliminate Vipers?
A draw between the two sides will mean the two finish on seven points and automatically rule out the Venoms’ chances since they are on six.
A win for Rayon Sport by less than four goal margin as that will mean Al Hilal drop to second place in Group C but remain ahead of Vipers in the ranking for second placed team.
Gor Mahia and South Sudan’s Jamus topped their groups while Al Hilal is almost there given the scenarios which leaves the last spot battle between mainly Rayon Sport and Vipers.
