2026 KSSSA National Games: Football Takes Center Stage as Fixtures Roll Out at MPESA Academy

The long wait is finally over! The official fixtures for the 2026 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Term Two Games have been released, with preliminary football matches kicking off on Sunday, August 2 at the state-of-the-art MPESA Academy.

With regional champions having punched their tickets after gruelling qualifiers, East Africa’s football scouts and high school sports enthusiasts will be glued to Thika as the quest for national supremacy—and spots in the upcoming FEASSSA Games in Morogoro, Tanzania—officially gets underway.

Boys’ Football; Boys’ Soccer competition is stacked with pedigree. All eyes will be on Pool A, where Rift Valley champions Menengai High face Nyanza powerhouse St. Mary’s Yala, while Coast kings Tononoka battle Nairobi giants Highway Secondary.

In Pool B, Western Region titans Kakamega High will kick off their campaign against North Eastern’s Takaba Day, alongside Central’s Mwenda-Andu taking on Tumaini School

Pool A: Menengai vs. St. Mary’s Yala

Pool B: Kakamega High vs. Takaba Day

Girls’ Football (Soccer): Tightly Contested Race for Glory.

The Girls’ Soccer division promises maximum drama right from Day 1.

Pool A features a mouth-watering match-up between Coast’s Kaya Tiwi and Central’s Kiaritha Girls, alongside St. Joseph’s taking on perennial contenders Nyakach Girls.

Over in Pool B, Nairobi representative raila Education Centre will lock horns with Western’s Archbishop Njenga, while Karibaribi goes toe-to-toe with Misuuni.

The Road to the Football Finals

The group stage matches run through Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, before the top two teams in each pool progress to the crucial Semi-Finals on Wednesday, August 5.

The climax of the tournament will take place on Thursday, August 6, with the Girls’ Football Final kicking off at 10:00 AM, followed by the Boys’ Football Final at 11:30 AM, right before the official closing ceremony and awards presentation.

Beyond the Pitch: While soccer takes main stage, MPESA Academy and surrounding venues (Mang’u High & JKUAT) will also be vibrant with Volleyball, Netball, Rugby 7s, Basketball 3×3, and racquet games throughout the week.
