Farouk Miya marked his return to Vipers SC with a brace as the Ugandan champions stormed to a 3-0 victory over Djibouti’s FC Garde Républicaine in their opening Group A match of the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup at Amahoro Stadium on Friday, July 24 2026.
Former Uganda Cranes International Farouk Miya netted a brace in the first 38 minutes, while Abdu Karim Watambala added the third before the break.
Miya broke the deadlock in the 15th minute with a well-taken free-kick. It was a perfect way to reintroduce himself to the Venoms family.
Miya extended Vipers’ lead in the 38th with an easy finish after Garde Républicaine’s backline failed to clear its lines.
