The 2025 Rwanda Super Cup champions Police FC have appointed Moroccan coach Rkyer Jaafar as their new head coach on a two-year contract running until July 2028.
Jaafar takes charge replacing Tunisian coach Ben Moussa, after parting ways with the club to lead a new technical bench in guiding the team for domestic honours and continental football after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign, in which the law enforcers finished sixth in the Rwanda Premier League.
Jaafar who has previously coached Renaissance Zemamra, Ittihad Tanger, and Branes SC , in Morocco will be assisted by Spanish tactician Bakkali Tahiri, who has also signed a two-year contract.
The club has also begun reshaping its squad, releasing five players—Allan Katerrega, Lague Byiringiro, David Chimezie, Henry Msanga and Richard Kirongozi—as part of the rebuilding process.
Jaafar will, however, have a core of experienced players to work with, including club captain Eric Zidane Nsabimana, Simeo Iradukunda and goalkeeper Patient Niyongira, who remain part of the squad.
The 2026/27 BK Pro League season is scheduled to kick off on September 4.
