Former champions Gor Mahia reclaimed their title to seal their 22nd Kenyan Premier League crown on Sunday, despite not being in action.
K’Ogalo secured the SportPesa League title thanks to their closest rival AFC Leopards 2-1 loss to league debutantes APS Bomet at the Kericho Green Stadium.
The result meant that Leopards, who have played a game more than their traditional rivals, cannot match the 68 point tally amassed by Gor Mahia.
Sunday’s result sees Gor Mahia reclaim the title they lost last season to Kenya Police FC.
With Ingwe left with only one match to play, Gor are now set to lift the title when they face Nairobi United in their final game of the season.
Heading to the contest, Leopards’ faithful had hoped to floor the league debutants and keep their slim title hopes alive.

Ingwe managed to pull one back in the dying minutes through an own goal from Edward Masembe, but it was not enough to earn them the maximum points they desperately needed.
Gor were not in action, on Sunday, as the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) halted their date with Mara Sugar following a dispute on where the contest would be staged.

Sofapaka 1 Shabana 1
The 2009 Kenyan Premier League champions and relegated Sofapaka held Shabana to a 1-1 draw at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Sofapaka took the lead in the 36th minute through Francis Ghartey from a counterattack before Kevin Omundi equalised in the 78th minute for a share of the spoils.
Historically, Shabana have enjoyed the upper hand against Sofapaka in recent meetings. In the last five encounters between the two teams, Tore Bobe have secured four victories while Sofapaka have managed only one win.
Interestingly, most of those matches have been decided by narrow margins, with 1-0 scorelines becoming a common outcome. The biggest victory recorded during that run came in 2023 when Shabana dismantled Sofapaka 4-1 in a commanding display.
