Naibois Seeking to End Winless Run as They Host Mara Sugar

Nairobi United will be aiming to end a three match winless run in the Sportpesa League as they host Mara Sugar in a crucial league fixture set for tommorow Wednesday April 1st at Kasarani Annex, kick off at 3PM.

The two teams come into the fixture separated by just four points on the log with the Sugar belt side in 12th place with 30 points after 25 matches, while the Naibois are 10th with 34 points after 24 matches.

After defeating Sofapaka 1_0 in mid March, Nairobi United have endured a miserable run of form that has seen the team register a single point out of a possible nine in their last three league encounters against Afc Leopards, Ulinzi Stars and APS Bomet.

In their last Sportpesa League match against APS Bomet played at Gusii Stadium, the city boys failed to score despite creating several clear cut chances a pattern that has remained consistent in their last few games.

The match in Kisii had to be abandoned after the first half following heavy rains with play resuming the next morning for the second half. Despite the long break between the two halfs non of the sides was able to get on the scoresheet.

Mara Sugar come into the fixture after suffering a 1_0 loss to KCB in their last Sportpesa League match. The sugar millers are also on a poor run of form winning just one of their last four league encounters.

Speaking ahead of the match, Nairobi United Assistant Coach Shadique Ambani remained defiant insisting the team will get the three points tommorow despite recent struggles.

“Tommorow against Mara Sugar am confident the boys will get a win. We have prepared well for the match and the boys are well psyched.”

Vice Captian Brian Mzee Omondi urged Nairobi United supporters to stick with the team as they seek to get back to winning ways.

“We know the last few results have not been pleasing to our supporters and to everyone associated with the club. We are working hard everyday in training to ensure we get back to winning again.”
