NAIBOIS LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK AS THEY HOST ULINZI

Nairobi United will be looking to bounce back to winning ways as they host Ulinzi Stars in a thrilling contest set for Sunday 22nd March, 3:30 PM at Police Sacco Stadium.

The Naibois come into the match after a dissapointing 1_0 loss to AFC Leopards in their last Sportpesa League match.

The solitary strike scored early in the first half by Ssenyonjo ensured Naibois remained rooted in 9th place in the log with 33 points having played 22 matches, with two games in hand.

In the last meeting between Nairobi United and Ulinzi Stars played at the Ulinzi complex in early January, both sides were forced to settle for a point after an electrifying contest.

A brilliant first half strike by Duncan Omalla after a fantastic delivery from the right by Ovella Ochieng, gave the city boys an early lead before Ulinzi Stars equalized late on through a header at the near post by Evans Odhiambo delivered by a Boniface Muchiri corner kick.

Speaking ahead of the match, Nairobi United assistant coach Boniface Omondi lamented the lack of clinical finishing in the last encounter between the two sides.

“In the last league game against Ulinzi, we created a lot of chances but still drew. This time we expect to create more chances and score more goals. We are all good in the defensive department, we expect to get all the three points God willing.”

Captain John Otieno who has been out of action in recent weeks, is hoping that the team will be able to capitalise on their chances against the military men.

“Tommorow it will not be easy because we are facing a relegation threatened team. I urge my team mates to utilise our chances because if you look at the first leg match we lost alot of chances.”

Ovella Ochieng has resumed light training for the Naibois and is expected to be fit in the coming weeks after a long lay off. Titus Ssematimba, Charles Waibi, Majaliwa Charo and Roy Okal remain sidelined through injury and will not be available.
