Gor Mahia Pip Shabana to Re-open 10-Point Kenyan Premier League Gap

Gor Mahia extended their dominance over Shabana FC with a hard-fought 2-1 SportPesa League victory at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday March 21st, 2026 afternoon.

The deadlock was broken in the 21st minute after a period of fast transition from defense to attack. Ebenezer Adukwaw found Shariff  Musa on the right, who teed Jackson Dwang for the mid-season signing to curl home on his left foot.

The visitors would surprisingly level the scores seconds later from the restart after Assis Mambote flicked the ball to Wycliffe Omondi who steered past Gad Matthews.

A late header from Alpha Onyango 10 minutes from time secured Gor the win, ruining the debut of Shabana’s interim boss, Andrew Mark Ongwae who took over afew days after Peter Okidi was shown the door.

The win sees K’Ogalo move to 56 points, extending their lead at the summit of the SportPesa League to ten points.

Police 2 KCB 1

Defending champions Kenya Police FC returned to winning ways by pipping KCB FC 2-1 a Premier League clash staged at the Police Sacco Stadium.

The Law Enforcers took the lead in the 12th minute Yves Koutiama from a rebound after goalkeeper, Elvis Ochieng, fumbled with the ball, which then fell to his path who had the simple task of slotting it in to break the deadlock.

The bankers found a way back into the game through Richard Omondi in the second minute of the first half’s added time for a 1-1 stalemate at the breather.

With the win, Police climbed up to third in the log with 40 points, the same as Shabana, who lost 2-1 to Gor Mahia, while KCB remained eighth with 34 points.

Bidco 0 Sofapaka 0

The 2009 Kenyan Premier League champions Sofapaka remained rooted at the foot of the table on 14 points after being held to a barren draw by Bidco United staged at Wang’uru Stadium in Kirinyaga

The result sees Bidco United, under coach Anthony Akhulia, sitting just above the relegation zone and buoyed by a four-match unbeaten run move to 22 points as they continue their fight for survival.

For Sofapaka, it marked the first point under new head coach Edward Manoah in his second game in charge, though they remain anchored at the bottom of the table

Mara Sugar 0-0 APS Bomet
