
Nairobi United will be aiming to make it two wins in a row in the Sportpesa League as they take on AFC Leopards in a highly anticipated clash set for tommorow Wednesday March 18th at Nyayo National Stadium, kick off set at 3PM.
Nairobi United come into the fixture on a good run of form remaining unbeaten in their last four league matches after a shock 2_1 loss to APS Bomet in early February at the same vanue.
AFC Leopards head into the encounter fresh from suffering an embarassing 4_1 loss to Mathare United in their last Sportpesa League match. They will be hoping to salvage their quickly diminishing prospects of lifting the title they last won 18 years ago by gunning for the three points.
In the last league encounter between the two Nairobi based clubs, Ingwe emerged 2_0 winners courtesy of a first half own goal by Karamor before Kelly Madada sealed the victory in the 69th minute to earn the Leopards all the three points.
Speaking ahead of the match, Nairobi United assistant coach Boniface Omondi expressed confidence that the Naibois will get the job done although he expects a tough contest.
“We expect a tough game against AFC Leopards, we know in their last match they lost against Mathare United so we expect them to come back stronger since they are chasing the league.”
Fullback Kevin Osanya who scored a brilliant long range strike against Sofapaka in the last Sportpesa League match for Nairobi United is optimistic that the team will get a good result against Ingwe.
“In tommorow’s game against AFC Leopards we expect to get a good result.”
The Naibois come into the contest on a clean bill of health with only long time absantee Ovella Ochieng still out with a shoulder injury and Prince Buregeya.
