Depu Bags a hattrick as Young Africans Run Riot in CRDB Federation Cup

Depu bagged a hattrick as Tanzania Premier League champions Young Africans (Yanga) thrashed Police FC 7-1 to cruise into the Round of 16 of the CRDB Federation Cup at the KMC Complex on Sunday, March 8th, 2026 night.

The first act of the Police FC goalkeeper Salum Kipemba was to pick the ball from the net after Mudathir Yahya fired Yanga ahead, inside the 1st minute of the encounter.

Angolan forward Laurindo Dilson Maria Aurelio, widely known as Depu unleashed a thunderous strike to beat the goalkeeper in the 22nd minute before adding his second of the night ten minutes later.

Police’s night worsened in the 38th minute when defender Joseph Majagi inadvertently turned the ball into his own net while attempting to deal with the Ugandan playmaker Allan Okello effort that had rebounded off the post, stretching Yanga’s lead even further.

Depu completed his hat-trick after meeting a superb delivery from Okello, taking the scoreline to four for the hosts In the 59th minute.

Police briefly found a response in the 71st minute, but it came in unfortunate fashion for Yanga as defender Frank Assinki accidentally guided the ball into his own net.

Substitute Buba Jammeh dimmed the law enforcers hopes for a comeback, by scoring in the 76th minute to restore Yanga’s commanding advantage.

Abdulnassir Mohamed rounded off the emphatic victory in the 84th minute, firing through a crowded penalty area after a move initiated by Okello’s  short corner.
