KCCA, Kitara Advance to Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16

Former Stanbic Uganda Cup champions Kitara Football Club marched towards reclaiming the title by booking a place in the round of 16 stage in the ongoing competition.

George Ssenkaaba and Alex Emmanuel Wasswa scored in either half of the evening contest for The Royals winners of the same competition in the 2023-2024 season to advance.

Kitara and Entebbe UPPC will again face off next Tuesday (3rd March 2026) at the Royal Park in Butema in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Ten times Uganda Cup champions Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA) pipped the lower tier FUFA Big League side Mbarara City at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo,

Captain Filbert Obenchan scored with a diving header for KCCA to qualify for the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 to stay in contention for the cup they last won in 2018.

The Uganda Cup continues on Tuesday night when cup holders Vipers host Pajule Lions at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
