Burundian Gloire Tambwe Goal Earns Rayon Sports Premier League win over Rwanda Police

Nine times Rwanda National Football champions Rayon Sports beat Police 1-0 in the Rwanda Premier League at Kigali Pelé Stadium.

The win moved the Blues to fifth place with 32 points after 19 matches, as  Rwanda Police despite the loss are placed third with 34 points.

Burundian attacking midfielder Gloire Tambwe struck in the 82nd minute to score the all-important goal for the 1998 Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) club champions to secure all three points for coach Bruno Ferry’s side.

Police winners of the Rwanda Cup in 205, coached by Ben Moussa have now lost back-to-back matches after defeats to AS Kigali and Rayon Sports.

The policemen next face the Rwanda Premier League defending champions APR, and another loss would increase the pressure on the team.
