Simba FC Roars to the Summit as Buganda Regional League Title Race Ignites

The hierarchy of the Buganda Regional League (BRL) (Uganda 3rd tier) was dramatically reset this weekend as Match Day 14 delivered a decisive “six-pointer” that has changed the face of the promotion battle.

In a clash of the titans, Simba FC asserted their dominance, proving they are ready for a return to the second tier, The FUF Big League.

Simba FC 3-0 Buwambo United:

All eyes were on the Namulonge-Gayaza grounds for the weekend’s marquee fixture. Simba FC, playing with the clinical edge of champions, dismantled the erstwhile leaders Buwambo United in a convincing 3-0 shutout.

The victory was a tactical masterclass, neutralizing Buwambo’s usually potent midfield and allowing Simba to leapfrog them into 1st place. Simba now leads the pack with 36 points, leaving Buwambo trailing in second with 32 points.

While Simba took care of business in Gayaza, Masaka City SC kept their playoff dreams alive with a gritty 1-0 victory over Young Simba FC. In a match defined by defensive discipline, Masaka City found the breakthrough to secure three points at home.

Goal Rush at Kyetume

The weekend’s most lopsided result came from Kyetume Lwetamu, where Nyendo FC put on a finishing clinic, hammering Super Eagles Lugongwe 6-1. The win serves as a massive morale and goal-difference booster for Nyendo as they look to disrupt the top-tier standings in the final stretch of the season.
