Uganda Make Final Qualification Round of Women’s Under 20 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Uganda secured a slot into the fourth and final qualification round FIFA World Cup Under 20 qualifiers after overcoming Zambia 1-0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday, February 14th, 2026.

Mary Katono scored the lone goal for the Queen Cranes in the seventh minute and this turned out to be decisive moment of the game.

The Queen Cranes will now face Ghana who eliminated South Africa 3-2 on aggregate. The first leg ended in Accra ended in a two-all draw but today’s return leg saw Ghana secure a 1-0 stoppage time winner.

Having played out a 2-2 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium, Charles Sampson’s side beat South Africa 1-0 in the reverse fixture courtesy substitute Priscilla Mensah’s strike.

The Ghana’s Princesses are chasing an eighth successive appearance at the U20 Women’s World Cup having been present since their debut in 2010.

Uganda will face Ghana, Benin will take on Ivory Coast, Cameron will  Tanzania while Malawi will face either Nigeria or Senegal.
