Singida Black Stars Say Goodbye to CAF Confederation Cup

Algeria’s CR Belouizdad sealed their place in the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals with a hard-fought 1-0 away win over Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars on Sunday evening at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.

Abdennour Belhocini who joined Belozuidad from the 2017–18 Algeria Ligue 1 champions Constantine unleashed a superb long-range strike that found the back of the net in the 3rd minute.

The contest grew increasingly tense in the second half, with both sides eventually reduced to ten men. Belouizdad’s Mohamed Hammouda was sent off on the hour mark after picking up a second yellow card, shifting the momentum in favour of the hosts.

In the same group, South African side Stellenbosch FC marked their exit from the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend following a  3-0 loss against Congo’s Otoho d’Oyo in Group C at Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat on Sunday afternoon.
