Cameroon Football Federation President and CAF Executive Committee member Samuel Eto’o is set to attend the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Elective General Assembly scheduled for Saturday, 7 February, in Djibouti.
“We expect several guests from CAF, FIFA, Member Association Presidents, Zonal Union Presidents and sponsors to attend the Assembly,” said Jean Sseninde, the CECAFA Interim Executive Director.
Among the confirmed guests are Gusau Ibrahim Musa, President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) B and Nigeria Football Federation; Lamin Kaba Bajo, President of WAFU A and the Gambia Football Federation; and the President of the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA), who also heads the Comoros Football Federation.
FIFA Council members Djibrilla Hima Hamidou of Niger and Ahmed Ould Yahya of Mauritania are also expected to attend as well as Ivorian FA President and CAF Exco member Diallo Vakè Indris.
Other senior football officials set to grace the assembly include CAF Fifth Vice President and Mozambique FA President Sidat Fezal Ismael, CAF Director of Member Associations Sarah Mukuna, and FIFA Regional Development Office head Davis Ndayisenga.
CECAFA is made up of 12 member associations: Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zanzibar.
The assembly will deliberate on key administrative matters, including the approval of the 2026 CECAFA budget and the adoption of the zonal body’s competitions calendar for the year.
