Since its inception in the 2017/18 season, the Uganda Cup has become a pillar of the domestic sports calendar. It has survived a three-year pandemic-induced hiatus to return stronger, with past winners including Luzira Thunders, Park FC, and the defending champions, Mengo City FC.
The Futsal tournament represents the pinnacle of technical football in the region. The high-speed nature of the game continues to serve as a vital development tool for Ugandan talent, many of whom transition between the indoor courts and the 11-a-side national team.
Ten elite clubs have been confirmed for this edition, blending established powerhouses with hungry newcomers:
Mengo City FC (Defending Champions), Kisenyi FC, Lubaga Grameen, Old Kampala FC, Edgars Youth Programme, Kabowa Dream Team, Lubiri Falcons, Nansana Aska, Mbarara QC, and Entebbe Cheetahs.

The Road to Immortality
The tournament follows a single-round knockout structure. Six teams will advance through their opening matches, while two sides will receive byes to complete a star-studded Quarter-Final lineup.
FAU has also confirmed a third-place playoff for the semi-final losers, ensuring every top-four position is fought for on the pitch.
Uganda’s ability to maintain a consistent, competitive Futsal calendar (including both the Men’s and the newly launched Women’s Cup) puts them leagues ahead in the CECAFA zone. As the “Knockout Dreams” return, the message is clear: Uganda is the blueprint for Futsal success in East Africa.
