Ex-KCCA coach Abdallah Mubiru Returns to Haunt former Club at Lugogo

Former Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) football club coach Abdallah Mubiru returned to Lugogo to subject the team to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Entebbe UPPC formerly Gaddafi FC at on Friday evening at MTN-Omondi Stadium.

The all important goal was scored by Ambrose Kigozi at the stroke of halftime after the left back Isa Mubiru an ex-KCCA player floated a long pass behind the the authority’s  backline and Kigozi beat them for pace, controlled the ball before slotting it past overlapping goalkeeper Charles Lukwago.

The result means Entebbe UPPC moved to second place relegating KCCA to third from second spot but both teams are level on 30 points but separated on goal difference points.

This was the first meeting since Entebbe UPPC changed name from Gaddafi but in the previous encounters, with KCCA having the edge with five wins against one.

Mubiru made his first return to Lugogo as Entebbe UPPC manager as his side took on KCCA on the last game of the first round of the 2025/26 season.

The soft-spoken tactician had two spells as KCCA boss, but was dismissed by the club before end of last season before moving to Old Entebbe in August.

Besides, he also played for KCCA and worked at the club before in the capacity of assistant coach winning trophies with George ‘Best’ Nsimbe.

On Friday, he returned  with four ex-KCCA players including captains Julius Poloto and Mustafa Mujjuzi, Steven Munguchi and Isa Mubiru.
