Nairobi United Improves Technical Bench Ahead of CAF Confederations Cup Assignments

NAIROBI, Kenya — The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup champions Nairobi United has announce the strengthening of its technical bench as the team prepares for the CAF Confederations Cup assignments.

The club has secured the services of Bonface Omondi Musa as an assistant coach, a holder of CAF B coaching license from the 2018 FKF Cup winners Kariobangi Sharks who previously handled the 2008 Premier league champions Mathare United and National Super League (NSL) side Naivas FC.

Nairobi United has hired a coach B coaching license holder Sadiq Ambani also as an assistant coach from five times premier league champions Ulinzi Stars and having had stints with the current champions Kenya Police and ex-champs Tusker FC.

FIFA Certified fitness trainer Kevin Kimani joins the bench as the Strength and Conditioning coach

Technical Director Salim Ali commented on the appointments: “We are beefing up our technical bench to bring in more experience and tactical depth. This is crucial as we navigate a demanding schedule both domestically and in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Nairobi United head coach Nicholas Muyoti welcomed the technical bench into the team and exuded optimism that he has winning crew and combination that will take the team places.

The new bench will start their first assignment by preparing the country’s CAF Confederation representatives against the Kenya’s 1988 Africa Cup Winners Cup representatives Shabana away in Kisii on the January 4th, 2026.

The new bench will start their first assignment continental assignment  on February 8th, 2026 against Morrocan side Wydad AC in the Kenyan capital.

Nairobi United are placed at the bottom of group B with zero points after losing their two opening fixtures, same as Tanzania’s Azam FC, while Congolose side AS Maniema is in second with six points, same tally as Wydad AC but the Moroccan outfit is ahead on goal difference.
