The match kicked off with promising intensity, as Nairobi United quickly showed their intention to dominate the game. In the 10th minute, a beautifully orchestrated pass from midfielder Machaka found forward Omala in a favorable position. However, the linesman’s flag was raised, ruling Omala offside and denying the team an early lead.

The first half saw both teams exchanging chances, but neither could break the deadlock. Maniema had a notable opportunity in the 21st minute, but a misplaced shot went glaringly wide of the target, demonstrating their struggle to find the back of the net.

Nairobi continued to press, with Omala showcasing his skills in the 27th minute, darting past a defender only to see his shot narrowly miss the goal. Karamor also had a chance before halftime, testing the opposition’s goalkeeper who was equal to the task.

As the halftime whistle blew, the score remained 0-0, with Nairobi United seemingly on the verge of a breakthrough given their persistent attacking efforts.

The second half started with Nairobi United maintaining their attacking momentum, especially highlighted by a precise cross from Machaka in the 54th minute that Karamor just failed to connect with.

A crucial moment came in the 85th minute when defender Lennox received a yellow card for a tactical foul to halt a rapid counter from Maniema, indicative of the desperation Nairobi felt to reclaim control of the match.

As the final whistle blew, A.S Maniema Union celebrated their hard-fought victory while Nairobi United reflected on missed opportunities. The result leaves Nairobi United with plenty to ponder as they prepare for their next fixture in the group stage.
