Uganda Cranes Announce Squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Uganda Cranes have unveiled their squad for the crucial upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, featuring a blend of local talent and experienced foreign-based players.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Paul Put, the 26-man roster includes eight players from the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, showcasing the league’s depth and competitive spirit.

Vipers SC leads the local representation with four players, including standout defenders Rogers Torach and Hilary Mukundane, as well as midfielder Enock Ssebagala and forward Allan Okello.

KCCA FC contributes two prominent defenders, Herbert Achayi and Gavin Kizito, highlighting their vital role in the squad’s defensive strategy. The local contingent is rounded off by SC Villa’s agile striker Reagan Mpande and Jude Ssemugabi from Kitara FC, both of whom are expected to bring their scoring prowess to the team’s attacking lineup.

As the Cranes gear up to face Botswana on October 9 and Algeria five days later, the squad also features a solid representation of foreign-based players. Notable names include goalkeeper Denis Onyango from Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa, who brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the team.
