Bandari FC Parts Ways with Head Coach Ken Odhiambo After Disappointing Start to Season

Mombasa. Kenya: Bandari FC has announced the termination of head coach Ken Odhiambo’s contract following a lackluster beginning to the 2025/26 SportPesa League season. Assistant Coach John Baraza will take charge on an interim basis.

The decision comes after the team’s underwhelming performances, which included a draw against Kakamega Homeboyz and a narrow defeat to Shabana.

The club’s management expressed disappointment in the early results, feeling that a change was necessary to reinvigorate the squad and improve their standing in the league. Odhiambo, who had taken the reins with high expectations, faced mounting pressure as the team struggled to find form.

“After careful consideration, we believe it is in the best interest of the club to make this change,” said a spokesperson for Bandari FC. “We appreciate Ken’s efforts during his time with us and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

With Odhiambo’s departure, his assistant, John Baraza, has been appointed as the interim head coach. Baraza, who has been with the team in various capacities, is expected to bring a fresh perspective and motivate the players as Bandari FC begins its search for a new permanent coach.

“I understand the challenge ahead of us,” Baraza stated in a press conference. “It’s a crucial time for the club, and I’m committed to getting the best out of our players. We have the talent and ambition to turn things around.”

As Bandari FC moves forward, the club will be actively seeking a new head coach who can align with its vision and drive the team to success in the remaining fixtures of the SportPesa League season. The management is confident that the right appointment will help restore the club’s competitive edge.

Fans of Bandari FC will be closely watching how the team responds under Baraza’s leadership, hoping for an upturn in fortune as they look to reclaim their place among the league’s top contenders.

Stay tuned for updates as the club embarks on this pivotal journey.
