Yanga Warns On Fake Jersey Sales Ahead of CAF CL Return Match on Saturday

The atmosphere is charged with excitement as Young African Sports Club gears up for their highly anticipated CAF Champions League clash against Wiliete Benguela of Angola. Communication officer Ally Kamwe addressed the media to share critical updates on the team’s preparations and strategies, particularly focusing on the pressing issue of counterfeit jerseys that have proliferated in the market.

Kamwe began by expressing the club’s ongoing struggle against the influx of fake jerseys, emphasizing the difficulties they face in protecting their brand. “The war on fake jerseys is a tough battle, not an easy battle,” he stated, revealing that although the club’s cargo for the season has been depleted, counterfeit jerseys are still making their way into the country.

In response, the club is launching their second edition jersey, manufactured with a different fabric, aimed at distinguishing it from the imitations. “I believe this will put an end to the fake jersey behavior,” he confidently asserted.

He appealed to supporters to rally behind this initiative, encouraging them to purchase the new jerseys, which will be available at selected stores for 40,000 shillings. Additionally, bulk purchases can be made at the Sandaland The Only One store, further reinforcing the club’s fight against counterfeit merchandise.

As the match day approaches, Kamwe highlighted the emotional significance of the game for fans and the team alike. He noted the investment each player and supporter puts into the sport, stating, “Tomorrow our fans will enter the stadium to witness entertainment.” He requested fans to turn out in their numbers to support the team as they kick off the Champions League season at home.

With a jovial spirit, he revealed a special slogan for the match: “MFUMO UMEMEKUBALI,” indicating there would be something unique in store for supporters attending the game at Mkapa Stadium. To ensure accessibility for all fans, the club has set a friendly entrance fee of only 3,000 shillings for the Circle area, with higher tiers available for VIP seating.

Kamwe concluded with a reminder about the importance of unity and determination, saying, “We should not be discouraged by past results,” referring to the team’s earlier encounters. The match against Wiliete Benguela is not just a game; it’s a crucial opportunity for redemption and a chance to rally the community around the team.

With excitement building and an electric atmosphere expected at Mkapa Stadium, Young African Sports Club looks forward to making its fans proud as they strive for victory in this pivotal tournament.
