StarTimes Uganda Premier League Unveils Revised Fixture Schedule for 2025/26 Season

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League has released an adjusted fixture schedule for the 2025/26 season following FUFA Circular 1204. The new arrangement replaces the initial draw-based schedule with a manually prepared fixture list for Round One in response to feedback from clubs.

The revision is intended to ensure fairness and to align with the modified league format adopted by FUFA.

Round One will run from 26th September 2025 to 14th February 2026, with all sixteen clubs playing each other once across fifteen matchdays.

At the conclusion of the round, a table standing will be drawn, positioning clubs from first to sixteenth before they are split into groups for the next stages of the competition.

Round Two will have two groups, the top eight sides forming Group One and the bottom eight forming Group Two, each contesting a two-leg competition.

Round Three will further divide the clubs into three groups based on performance in Round Two, with fixtures played on a one-leg basis. The final table standing will be determined solely from points and goals accumulated in Round Two and Round Three, with results from Round One not carried forward.

The club finishing in first place on the final table will be declared champions of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League 2025/26 season. The clubs ranked between first and fourteenth will qualify for licensing in the 2026/27 first division, while those in fifteenth and sixteenth positions will be relegated and licensed for the second division. Goals scored across all three rounds will count towards the top scorer accolade.

Cautions that have not accumulated to suspension will not be carried from one round to another, although suspensions will be served when due in line with FUFA competition rules. Send-offs will also be served as and when they occur, irrespective of the round.

Matchday One will start on Friday, 26th September, with BUL FC hosting URA FC at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru at 4:00 PM. On the same day, Entebbe UPPC FC will welcome Buhimba United Saints FC at Bugonga Fisheries Ground in Entebbe, while Kitara FC faces KCCA FC at The Royals Park in Hoima City.

Lugazi FC will take on Calvary FC at Lugazi Stadium, and Police FC will clash with Mbarara City FC at Kiira Road Police Arena in Kamwokya. Express FC will play UPDF FC under floodlights at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, in a 7:00 PM fixture.

Maroons FC versus NEC FC at Maroons Stadium, Luzira, and Vipers SC against SC Villa at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende, will be played on dates yet to be confirmed due to Vipers and NEC’s CAF Interclub engagements.
