Grouped in a tough Group C alongside Sudanese giants Al-Hilal Omdurman, Madani FC, and South Sudan’s Kator FC, MCC held their ground and finished second in the group with 5 points—level with Al-Hilal but trailing on goal difference.
Their campaign concluded on a high note on September 10, when Mogadishu City came from behind to beat Madani FC 2-1. Despite an early setback in the 16th minute, they equalized through Ilyaas in the 36th minute and secured the win through a stoppage-time goal by Marsis in the 90+1st minute.
