In a thrilling development for Kenyan football, Tusker FC forward Ryan Ogam has officially signed with Austrian Bundesliga team Wolfsberger AC. The promising 20-year-old center forward, known for his dynamic playing style and goal-scoring abilities, will join his new teammates in Wolfsberg following the international break.
Wolfsberger AC announced the acquisition on their official website, highlighting not only Ogam’s signing but also that of fellow recruit, 19-year-old left-back Austin Uzondu Harrison. Both players are expected to bring fresh energy and talent to the squad as they look to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season.
Ogam, who hails from Kenya, made headlines during the recent international tournament co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. His outstanding performance, characterized by two crucial goals that helped propel the Kenyan team to the quarter-finals, caught the attention of Wolfsberger’s management.
Club president Dietmar Riegler expressed enthusiasm for Ogam’s arrival, emphasizing the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent from Africa.
“We watched Ryan during the last tournament and were incredibly impressed by his skill and potential. We have a successful history with young talent from Africa and are delighted to sign the first Kenyan footballer for WAC,” Riegler stated.
He also assured that the club would provide Ogam with the best environment to thrive as a player.
Meanwhile, Uzondu Harrison arrives at Wolfsberger from Nigeria’s FC Ikorodu City. The left-footer recently showcased his abilities while representing Nigeria in the African Nations Championship. Like Ogam, he is expected to make a significant impact on the team upon his arrival after the international break.
As both players prepare to contribute to their new club, fans of Wolfsberger AC eagerly await the exciting potential this new duo holds for the team’s future.
